Day 16: What is the difference between health care and sick care?
My definition of health care is when you are healthy but still take preventative measures to keep yourself from falling ill. It is important to practice proactive care, rather than reactive care. Practicing proactive care keeps your body and immune system strong. Building a strong body and immune system allows your body to stay ahead of the game instead of constantly playing catch up. The other side of this is sick care in which you are being treated when you have symptoms. This kind of care acts as triage care, focusing on removing symptoms rather than solving the root cause of a problem. Practicing health care helps us feel and perform our best!
